I am a scholar, a writer and a thinker. My interests in philosophy, linguistics, physics and all things funny stem from my upbringing in the San Francisco Bay Area and much of my adolescence spent in Turkey. I am working toward a career in issue advocacy journalism and both fiction and non-fiction writing, editing and publishing. An emerging polyglot, I am currently finishing my bachelor’s degree in journalism from the UO. I am part of the Alaska team because I believe in challenging the status quo by providing audiences with powerful, compelling and data-rich stories of science and memory through writing and a variety of other platforms.
