In fifth grade, I was given my first big girl watercolor set. Since then, I have had a growing love for art. It has been a hobby and an escape, but not much more. Little did I know that a month in Cordova, Alaska this past summer would provide me with a whole new appreciation for the texture and colors of land, people, and animals. I was lucky enough to get the “in-house-artist” gig for this project, and I am now finding ways that I can make art useful in telling stories about climate.
